The Labyrinth at Well Beyond
Walking the Labyrinth
Labyrinths are great for brain Integration, lowering blood pressure, and just quieting the mind and emotions. As an archetype for the sacred journey of life, the labyrinth has no equal in spiritual practice.
More about the journey than the destination, about being rather than doing, walking the Labyrinth is a metaphor for the journey of life. Once one commits to life and walking the path, the path itself does the powerful work of Divine Transformation.
The Three Stages of the Walk
Purigation (Releasing): As you walk the path to the center there is a releasing, a letting go of the details of your life. This is the act of shedding thoughts, distractions, worry, judgement, distress and more. A time to open your heart and quiet your mind.
Illumination (Receiving): When you reach the center, stay there as long as you like. The center rose is a place of meditation and prayer. Receive what is there for you to receive.
Union (Returning): When you leave the center, following the same path out as you came in, you enter the third stage, the stage of joining God, Spirit, The Divine, The Creator, at work in the world. Each time you walk the labyrinth you become more empowered to find and do the work your soul is seeking.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.” - Proverbs 3: 5-6
